What a busy fall, not only for us but for Marten, too! After his riveting speech in Albuquerque (September 8) for Literacy Day in New Mexico, as declared by Governor Bill Richardson, and presentations for the Literacy Council of Northeastern New Mexico in Las Vegas, Marten's been to Rio Rancho (October 18) to present the Gordon Suits Student Workshop for ReadWest, Inc.; Albuquerque (October 21) to speak at the Extension Association of New Mexico conference as keynote; Los Lunas (November 5) to speak at the New Mexico Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages and New Mexico Adult Education Association 2010 joint conference, as keynote;

and finally back to Rio Rancho (November 9) to present his Adult Literacy Student Becomes a Published Author workshop for ReadWest. Marten put in a lot of hard work for each presentation and raised much awareness at these events. He's also motivated many, including tutors and students, to persist and pursue their literacy aspirations, whether to teach or to learn.
